Abstract
Introduction: There is currently great interest, at national and international level, in the development of research skills by students in the medical sciences. Aim: To describe the scientific production of medical sciences students in Cuban journals.
Method: Bibliometric study. Articles from 30 Cuban medical journals in the period from 1995 to January 2015 were analysed to determine the student contribution.

The journal with more articles was MediCiego (154 articles), and there were 9 journal with no articles with student participation. None of the articles had authors that belonged to two or more centres or different countries.
