Investigación en Educación Médica

Investigación en Educación Médica journal is a Mexican periodic publication, edited quarterly basis by the National Autonomous University of Mexico through the Faculty of Medicine, with peer review, which aims to be the main dissemination vehicle in Mexico and Latin America in the area of ​​education in health sciences through quality original research reports, as well as review articles, methodology, and perspectives on the subject.

Investigación en Educación Médica focuses on a geographical region whose potential and significance have been underexplored. The journal has solidified its position as a significant platform for disseminating relevant research in the fields of health sciences and medical education in Latin America. This perspective will significantly contribute to the advancement and recognition of studies in this region, enriching the global landscape of scientific research.

Targeted audience: Institutions, academics, researchers, teachers, professionals, technicians and students in the field of  medicine and health sciences, who are interested in the theoretical and practical aspects of health sciences education.

The journal promotes open access to its content, ensuring that authors do not incur costs associated with the submission of manuscripts or the publication of their research. This policy is supported by funding provided by the budget of the National Autonomous University of Mexico UNAM, through the Faculty of Medicine. Consequently, all articles are available immediately and permanently, facilitating their consultation and download in PDF and HTML formats.

Objetives RIEM

The general objective of the journal, published by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, will be the dissemination of studies, research, theoretical and empirical works, as well as discussions and controversies that in the field of medical education in particular, and in general in the field of health sciences, are being carrying out in our academic and professional environment. The above to raise the academic, scientific and technical level of teaching and research staff in medical education and health sciences of educational institutions and health care in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.

The published articles will deal with practical and curricular aspects of the daily teaching activity, as well as problems and theoretical issues of education and training of human resources in the area of ​​health sciences. Likewise, the journal will include analysis and opinions of experts of recognized national and international prestige on medical education. It will cover all levels of medical education and health science professionals, from undergraduate and postgraduate to continuing education, in order to analyze experiences and stimulate new currents of thought in the field of medical education. It will serve as an innovation forum in the discipline of medical education, with the highest academic rigor possible.
