Innovate Mentorship Program Implementation for University Students in Chile

Introduction: The study addressed the challenge and importance of strengthening competencies in musculoskeletal anatomy. To achieve this, an innovative mentorship program was implemented, integrating gamification and problem-based learning (PBL).
Objective: Consolidate general skills of human anatomy of the locomotor system in university students through an innovative mentorship program emphasizing gamification and PBL.
Method: Quasi-experimental exploratory study with a cross-sectional design and intentional non-probabilistic sampling. Sixty-four undergraduate students in physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs participated. An objective written assessment was used as an instrument, consisting of 40 multiple-choice items prepared by a group of university experts.
Results: The study subjects obtained a 20% increase in the final assessment after the mentorship program.
Conclusions: The proposed mentorship program effectively contributed to the consolidation of general competencies in human anatomy in second- and third-year students.
