Currículum Dr. Melchor Sánchez Mendiola

El Dr. Melchor Sánchez Mendiola es un Pediatra mexicano y educador médico. Estudió Medicina y Pediatría en la Escuela Médico Militar, de la Universidad del Ejército y de la Fuerza Aérea de México. Trabajó como investigador clínico en el Laboratorio de Nutrición Humana y Metabolismo del Instituto de Tecnología de Massachusetts en Cambridge, EE.UU. Tiene el grado de Maestría en Educación en Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Illinois, en Chicago. Desde 2006 ha trabajado como profesor de tiempo completo en Educación Médica e Informática Biomédica en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), en la Ciudad de México. Es el responsable de la Maestría y Doctorado en Educación en Ciencias de la Salud de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM.

Ha sido conferencista en alrededor de 500 cursos de Educación Médica Continua en México y en el extranjero, con temas relacionados con la Educación Médica, la Medicina Basada en Evidencias, Pediatría, Toma de Decisiones Médicas e Informática Biomédica. Es autor y coautor de 70 artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales, 42 capítulos de libros, autor/editor de 8 libros y 34 tesis. Es Editor Asociado de la revista Advances in Health Sciences Education y editor de la revista Investigación en Educación Médica de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM. Es miembro de varias organizaciones académicas, incluyendo la Academia Nacional de Medicina en México, la American Academy of Pediatrics, la Society of Directors of Research in Medical Education, la Association for Medical Education in Europe, la Global Alliance for Medical Education y la American Educational Research Association.


Dr. Melchor Sanchez is a Mexican pediatrician and medical educator. He studied medicine and pediatrics at the Mexican Army Medical School, Mexican Army and Air Force University. He worked as a clinical research fellow in the Laboratory of Human Nutrition and Metabolism, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA. He has the degree of Master in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since 2006 he has worked as a full-time Professor in Medical Education and Biomedical Informatics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) Faculty of Medicine in Mexico City. He is responsible for the Master's and Doctorate in Education in Health Sciences program at UNAM .

He has been a lecturer in about 500 continuing education courses in Mexico and abroad, on issues related to medical education, evidence-based medicine, pediatrics, medical decision making and biomedical informatics. Author and co-author of 70 articles in national and international journals, 42 book chapters, author-editor of 8 books and 34 thesis. He is Associate Editor of the journal Advances in Health Sciences Education, and Editor of the journal Research in Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine, UNAM. He is member of several academic organizations, including the Mexican National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Directors of Research in Medical Education, the Association for Medical Education in Europe, the Global Alliance for Medical Education, and the American Educational Research Association.
