Abstract

The work is inserted into the field of research in medical education in general, and in particular, in the generation of evidence using structural modeling variables. Discussed the need that the researcher in medical education is sensitive to the complexity of the learning outcomes derived from medical training when choose the model of statistical analysis to be used, in such a way that exceeded the inadequacy of univariate models to analyze complex phenomena.
Thus, it is possible to optimize the generation of evidence that respond to the complexity of the studied and streamline decision-making in medical education. The work briefly reviews multivariate models and offers concrete examples of multivariate techniques applied to research in health.
