Abstract

Emotional intelligence is a topic that has not been addressed sufficiently in medicine, science shows us that it is not a fashion item but on the contrary is a set of interrelated skills that involve the ability to control oneself and having to do with the ability to accurately perceive and appraise and express emotions in oneself and to access and generate feelings when they facilitate thought and understanding the emotions of others. This article aims to raise awareness among teachers of schools and medical schools are in charge of education, to consider the subject of emotional intelligence as a pending issue for undergraduates and medical specialties. Students need to know how to respond emotionally to personal and professional situations.
